Overview

The Linear integration lets you create issues directly from security findings, coverage gaps, and other Tierity data — and view your team’s Linear backlog without leaving the platform.

How authentication works

The Linear integration uses a two-tier model: The org key handles data sync and org-initiated issue creation. When you take an action from your own account (such as moving an issue or adding a comment), Tierity uses your personal API key so the action appears under your identity in Linear. If no personal key is configured, write actions fall back to the org key.

Prerequisites

  • A Linear workspace
  • Manage access (or higher) in Tierity (for org setup)

Setup

1

Create an org API key

  1. In Linear, go to Settings → API → Personal API keys (or use a service account).
  2. Click Create key, give it a name like “Tierity Org”, and copy the key.
2

Configure the org connection

  1. Go to Config → Integrations → Linear.
  2. Enter the API Key.
  3. Select the default team and project for new issues.
  4. Click Save & Test.
3

Add your personal API key (optional)

  1. In Linear, go to Settings → API → Personal API keys and create a key for yourself.
  2. In Tierity, go to Profile → Connections and configure Linear.
  3. Paste your personal key — Tierity will use it for write actions attributed to you.

Creating issues

From any finding or risk in Tierity, use the Create Linear Issue action to push it to Linear with the title, description, and severity pre-filled. You can adjust the team, project, priority, and assignee before submitting.
