# Quickstart

> Sign in, connect your first tool and work through your first findings.

**1. Sign in**

Go to [tierity.com/login](https://tierity.com/login) (or your own instance if you self-host), enter your email and click **Continue**.

Tierity emails you a 6-digit code. Enter it and you're in. If the email is new, entering the code creates your account on the free plan, so signing in and signing up are the same steps.

You can also sign in with a password (if your account has one) or your company's SSO. See [Signing in](https://docs.tierity.com/sign-in.md) for details.

**2. Your organization**

New accounts get their own organization automatically, and you're its admin. If a teammate invited you, you'll land in their organization instead.

If you belong to several organizations, switch between them from the organization switcher in the sidebar.

**3. Connect your first tool**

Go to **Config → Integrations**, pick a tool you already run and enter its credentials. Use a read-only key wherever the vendor offers one.

Click **Test connection**. Tierity checks the credentials and starts the first sync straight away; most tools have their findings in Tierity within a few minutes.

Good first picks:

* **GitHub or GitLab** for pull requests and code findings
* **Semgrep, Snyk, Wiz or CrowdStrike** for findings from the scanners you already pay for
* **Okta, Entra ID or authentik** for identity posture

See the [integrations overview](https://docs.tierity.com/integrations/overview.md) for everything Tierity connects to.

**4. Set deadlines**

In **Config → Admin → SLA Policies**, set how many days your team has to fix each severity. Every finding gets a due date from its severity, and overdue findings are flagged on the Workbench.

**5. Work the queue**

Open the **Workbench** to see open findings, what's due, and the pull requests waiting on you. From a finding you can create a Linear or Jira ticket in one click, or ask the [AI assistant](https://docs.tierity.com/features/ai-chat.md) what to fix first.

**6. Invite your team**

In **Config → Team**, invite teammates by email and choose their role. See [Roles and permissions](https://docs.tierity.com/concepts/roles-permissions.md) for what each role can do.

## Desktop app

Tierity also runs as a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. Download it from the **Downloads** page of your Tierity instance and sign in with the same account.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The desktop app talks to the same backend as the web app. If you self-host, set your instance's URL in the app's settings.
